Quality boarding for cats

About Us
Hello, I'm Kate and my husband Mike and I have been the owners of Dutch Barn Cattery since February 2013.
I am a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN). I qualified in 1988 and have been working in small animal practice since then.

We are pet owners to 3 cats- Luigi, Saffron and Martha, 2 bunnies- Huey and Hester and a cocker spaniel- Meg.
My main interest has always been cat behaviour and medicine. I gained the ISFM Diploma in Feline Nursing (ISFM DipFN), in 2013. This is a two year course in which I studied analgesia, anaesthesia, infectious and non infectious diseases, genetics and behaviour. This will allow me to give detailed advice on the best practice for each stage of your cat's life.
Between 2017 and 2019 I studied for the ISFM Certificate in Advanced Feline Behaviour, which I passed with distinction.
I also passed my Fear Free Practitioner certificate and Feline Dentistry course on 2020.
As well as being registered with the Royal Collage of Veterinary Surgeons, I am a member of the ICC (Formally FAB), International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM), the Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund (RWAF), the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA) and the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA).
After many years in veterinary practice I understand how important it is for your cats to remain happy and content whilst away from their owner and will provide a reassuring and comfortable stay with plenty of individual care and attention.
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse I am qualified to give advice on many aspects of care and behaviour. Therefore cats of any age and those on medication- including diabetics- are welcome. Please ask me about any cat care concerns you may have. I look forward to caring for your cats.
Please note there is a minimum 3 day charge unless over Christmas when there is a minimum of a 5 day charge.
